Where can I find assistance with emissions monitoring, calculations or control technology?

For emissions monitoring issues, contact the Emissions Measurement Center (EMC).

The Emission Measurement Center (EMC) provides information on test methods for measuring pollutants from smokestacks and other industrial sources. This site compiles the test methods available for emission measurement, and EMC staff provide technical assistance in the use and application of the methods.

You can contact the EMC at:

Web site: http://www.epa.gov/ttn/emc/
Web contact form: http://www.epa.gov/ttn/emc/contact.html
E-mail: Emc@epa.gov
EMC Staff Directory: http://www.epa.gov/ttn/emc/staffdir.html

For questions or information regarding emissions factors, emissions inventories, or emissions modeling contact the Info CHIEF Help Desk at info.chief@epa.gov.

You may also be interested in the Reasonably Available Control Technology (RACT) / Best Available Control Technology (BACT) / Lowest Achievable Emission Rate (LAER) Clearinghouse (RACT/BACT/LAER Clearinghouse (RBLC)). The RBLC database contains case-specific information on the "best available" air pollution technologies that have been required to reduce the emission of air pollutants from stationary sources (e.g., power plants, steel mills, chemical plants, etc.). This information has been provided by State and local permitting agencies. The Clearinghouse also contains a regulation data base that summarizes EPA emission limits required in New Source Performance Standards (NSPS), National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants (NESHAP), and Maximum Achievable Control Technology (MACT) standards.
