Where can I find assistance with emissions monitoring, calculations or control technology?
Emissions monitoring information is available from EPA’s Office of Air and Radiation: http://www.epa.gov/air/.
For emissions monitoring issues, contact the Emissions Measurement Center (EMC).
The Emission Measurement Center (EMC) provides information on test methods for measuring pollutants from smokestacks and other industrial sources. This site compiles the test methods available for emission measurement, and EMC staff provide technical assistance in the use and application of the methods.
For questions or information regarding emissions factors, emissions inventories, or emissions modeling, contact the Info CHIEF Help Desk at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Technology Transfer Network Clearinghouse for Inventories & Emissions Factors has information on emissions inventories, modeling, factors, and reporting. For more information, please see: http://www.epa.gov/ttn/chief/index.html. The Clearinghouse also has a Monitoring Knowledge Base that contains information about monitoring techniques for air pollution control, available at http://cfpub.epa.gov/oarweb/mkb/.
You may also be interested in the Reasonably Available Control Technology (RACT) / Best Available Control Technology (BACT) / Lowest Achievable Emission Rate (LAER) Clearinghouse (RACT/BACT/LAER Clearinghouse (RBLC)). The RBLC database contains case-specific information on the "best available" air pollution technologies that have been required to reduce the emission of air pollutants from stationary sources (e.g., power plants, steel mills, chemical plants, etc.). This information has been provided by State and local permitting agencies. The Clearinghouse also contains a regulation data base that summarizes EPA emission limits required in New Source Performance Standards (NSPS), National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants (NESHAP), and Maximum Achievable Control Technology (MACT) standards.
