How can I report a refrigerant violation, and is there a reward?
The Frequently Asked Questions on Section 608 [of the Clean Air Act] provide information on these topics. You may view them at: http://www.epa.gov/ozone/title6/608/faq.html.
According to this Web page, "If you suspect or witness unlawful releases of refrigerant or other violations of the Clean Air Act regulations, you can file a report easily and anonymously by visiting EPA's Office of Enforcement and Compliance Assurance website: http://www.epa.gov/tips/.
Please note that "EPA does not automatically offer a $10,000 reward or any other bounty for persons who inform the Agency of possible refrigerant violations." http://www.epa.gov/ozone/title6/608/faq.html#q14
If you have any additional questions, please contact the subject area experts at the Ozone Protection Hotline at 1-800-296-1996 (toll-free) or 202-343-9210 (local and international).
